If you would like to contribute to Take Care, we are currently accepting financial donations through our nonprofit partner, Neighborhood Industries.
Bitwise Industries has committed $100,000 to provide food and necessities to those who may not have access to everyday items during the COVID-19 pandemic.
If and when we exhaust the $100,000, we will begin utilizing funds donated from the community to continue providing groceries and everyday items to folks in need. Any excess proceeds will go to our nonprofit partners, including the Central California Food Bank and Neighborhood Industries.
Take Care would not be possible without the hard work of our volunteer team. Each member of our #BWTakeCare team is helping make this grocery relief program possible!
Please fill out the form on this page if you would like to volunteer to pack and/or deliver grocery boxes as a part of the Take Care program in your community.
Once your volunteer form is processed, a Take Care team member will contact you with further instructions.
We are constantly evaluating our process and adapting to keep our volunteers and recipients safe and healthy. To our volunteers, remember to also take care of yourself as we work to take care of others.
- Please keep in mind some of the individuals in need of grocery assistance are elderly or immunocompromised. It is important to take precautions both for their safety and for yours.
- Please be sure to practice social distancing when you deliver. No handshakes. No hugs. Try to maintain a six-foot distance if possible.
- It’s appropriate to set the groceries on the doorstep for the recipient to pick up. If the person is disabled or otherwise unable to pick up the groceries from their doorstep, please set them inside their home and avoid touching surfaces, such as doorknobs.
- You’ll be provided with gloves but it is still important to wash your hands with hot water and soap or use hand sanitizer before and after your delivery. We recommend wearing a cloth face covering if you have one available.
It’s about humans.
On Sunday, March 15th, Bitwise Industries was on the eve of our first week of remote operations in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bitwise CEOs shared a simple message to the team, offering to shop and deliver groceries to friends and family in need. We soon realized there was an opportunity to also provide for the most at-risk in our community. Take Care was built in a matter of days and in less than a week, we’d received more than 1,000 requests from folks needing grocery assistance. We are continuing to fulfill the ongoing requests with the help of our volunteers and partners like Neighborhood Industries and the Central California Food Bank.
